美加華人浸信會聯會會長李汝恆牧師于2026年1月16日訪問大埔浸信會，獲該會曾家石執事、大埔浸信會社會服務處總幹事吳健文先生，及大埔浸信會公立學校蕭婷校長接待，及介紹該會在宏福苑大火後之災後工作。其後李牧師向該會致送美加華人浸信會聯會所收到的捐款美金83760元。
大埔浸信會宏福苑火災之災後工作
大埔浸信會于宏福苑火災之後的工作可分兩方面：1. 大埔浸信會社會服務處，及2. 大埔浸信會公立學校。
1. 社會服務處
1) 大埔浸信會服務處于災後即時設立「宏福苑支援中心」接觸受影響家庭，the Fire at 協助居民辦理補助登記、情緒支援、住屋及物資查詢等服務。本處的宏福苑救災支援中心繼續服務近930戶受災。
2) 學校社會工作服務團隊服侍120户學生家庭受災户的救災支援的工作。
3) 該處救災工作即將轉至下一階段，進行全面情緒支援和社區心靈營造工程。在服務900多戶的受災家庭中，有三成家庭表示需要心靈健康支援。中心現正打電話與這些家庭聯絡，在談話中感到有需要時，即派人探訪、輔導。
請為社會服務處工作人員的身心靈健康，並有智慧妥善領導及安排義工禱告。
2. 大埔浸信會公立學校
在11月26日大火發生後，學校停課，校舍被徵用，作警方調查搜証辦事處。
學校隨即聯絡了600多個學生，埔浸小學有27戸家庭失去家園，感恩家人及學生平安。在11月28日星期五校長及教職員同工們，在埔浸禮堂，先來一次專業社工輔導，及心理學家工作坊。
在11月29日星期六，在教育局安排下，獲分配到「大埔官立小學」及「新界婦孺福利會基督教銘恩小學」作臨時使用。
在12月1日星期一至五復課，600多個「小學雞」可以分別去到教育大學及城市大學「上課」和同區的學校集散和活動，老師擁抱孩子，並在眾多專業社工、輔導、心理學家現場支援下，「先處理心情、再處理事情」。同時也要面對配合兩校時間表、交通、膳食及接送等問題。
至於學校2026-2027年度的校舍安排，教育局最後確定會分配在富善邨的空置校舍(前為基正學校)給該校，預計可於2026年6月原成翻新及修復工程。另外，教育局亦表示會保留宏福苑校舍，如將來宏福苑附近的環境修復後，該校認為適合學生上課，可選擇返回原址。
請爲學校需要祈禱：
1）因有半年分開兩校舍，同事不能分身兩處，須要增聘老師及職工的資金。
2）因學校暫借其他校舍上課，學校須提供校巴給原先不需坐校巴的非災民學生，需要交通費支助。(災民已有資助，非災民表示難承擔額外校巴費)
3) 未來新校舍的裝修及器材。(教育局只提供基本設備，學校要自己承擔非標準設施，如：電子教學設備、部份場地的空調……）

President of the Chinese Baptist Fellowship of the US and Canada Visited Tai Po Baptist Church to Present Donation
Rev. Howard Li, President of the Chinese Baptist Fellowship of the US and Canada, visited Tai Po Baptist Church on January 16, 2026. He was received by Deacon Tsang Ka-shek, Mr. Kin-man Ng, General Secretary of Tai Po Baptist Church Social Service Centre, and Principal Ting Siu of Tai Po Baptist Church Public School. They briefed him on the church’s post-disaster relief efforts following the Wang Fuk Court fire. Pastor Li presented the church with a donation of US$83,760 collected by the Chinese Baptist Fellowship.
Tai Po Baptist Church’s Wang Fuk Court Fire Relief Work
There are two aspects of work undertaken by Tai Po Baptist Church following the fire at Wang Fuk Court: 1. Taipo Baptist Church Social Service Centre, and 2. Tai Po Baptist Public School.
1. Social Services Centre
1) The Tai Po Baptist Church Service Centre promptly established the “Wong Fuk Court Support Center” after the disaster to reach out to affected households. It assisted residents with subsidy registration, emotional support, housing inquiries, and material assistance. The center continues to serve approximately 930 affected households.
2) The School Social Work Service Team provided disaster relief support to 120 student families affected by the disaster.
3) The disaster relief efforts are transitioning to the next phase, focusing on comprehensive emotional support and community spiritual cultivation initiatives. Among the 900+ affected families served, 30% indicated a need for mental health support. The center is currently contacting these families by phone. When needs are identified during these conversations, staff are dispatched for home visits and counseling.
Please pray for the physical, mental, and spiritual well-being of Social Service staff, and for wisdom in wisely leading and arranging volunteers.
2. Tai Po Baptist Public School
Following the November 26 fire, the school suspended classes and its premises were requisitioned by the government as a police investigation and evidence collection office.
The school promptly contacted over six hundred students. Among Tai Po Baptist Primary School students, twenty-seven families lost their homes. We are thankful that all family members and students are safe. On Friday, November 28, the principal and teaching staff gathered at Tai Po Baptist Church Hall for professional social worker counseling and a workshop conducted by psychologists.
On Saturday, November 29, under arrangements by the Education Bureau of the government, the school was temporarily relocated to Tai Po Government Primary School and NTWJWA Christian Remembrance of Grace Primary School.
Classes resumed from Monday to Friday, December 1st. Over 600 “little ones” were able to attend classes at the Education University of Hong Kong and City University of Hong Kong, as well as participate in activities at schools in the same district. Teachers embraced the children, and with the on-site support of many professional social workers, counselors, and psychologists, they “addressed emotions first, then managed matters.” At the same time, they had to deal with issues such as coordinating schedules, transportation, meals, and pick-up/drop-off arrangements between the two schools.
Regarding the school’s 2026-2027 campus arrangements, the Education Bureau has finalized the allocation of vacant school premises in Fu Shin Estate (formerly Kei Ching Primary School) to the school. The premises are expected to be fully renovated and restored by June 2026. Additionally, the Education Bureau stated that the Hung Fuk Court campus will be retained. Should the school deem it suitable for students to return to the original site after future environmental remediation in the vicinity of Hung Fuk Court, it may opt to relocate back.
Please pray for the needs of the school:
1) Funding to hire additional teachers and staff, as colleagues cannot be present at two locations simultaneously during the six-month period of operating from two separate premises.
2) Transportation subsidies for non-displaced students who previously did not require school buses, as the school must provide bus services while temporarily using other premises. (Displaced students already receive subsidies; non-displaced students indicate difficulty bearing the additional bus costs.)
3) Future renovation and equipment for the new campus. (The Education Bureau only provides basic facilities; the school must cover non-standard equipment such as electronic teaching devices and air conditioning for certain areas.)
