Position: Mandarin Associate Minister – Jurupa Valley Campus
Reports To: Senior Pastor

Job Summary
The Mandarin Associate Minister supports the spiritual growth and pastoral care of the Mandarin-speaking congregation. This role includes preaching, teaching, discipleship, and outreach, while assisting the pastoral team in developing and executing ministry programs. The ideal candidate will be fluent in Mandarin and English, possess a strong biblical foundation, and have a heart for serving a multicultural and multigenerational church community.
Position Responsibilities
- Preach and teach God’s Word regularly for the Mandarin main service, Sunday School, Small Groups, and other fellowship groups as needed.
- Shepherd the flock by developing relationships with congregation members, participating in counseling, and visiting those in need.
- Conduct the Lord’s Supper and Baptism, as well as weddings, funerals, and baby dedications as needed.
- In collaboration with the Mandarin Lead Pastor, take initiative to set direction for various Mandarin ministry groups.
- Lead ministry lay leaders to set priorities, develop goals, and create strategic plans to make the future a reality.
- Integrate all groups and individuals to work together to accomplish the missions, goals, and objectives of the church.
- Preserve the team spirit in all phases of the work.
- Work with other pastoral team members to assist them in the needs of their ministries.
- Assist the Mandarin Lead Pastor in providing leadership and training to the core ministry team and lay-shepherd team to build up the church.
- Inspire, motivate, disciple, and mentor each team member to excel in their ministry through regular prayers, meetings, and retreats.
- Develop and train team members to be godly leaders for the church through discipleship or small groups.
- Perform ad-hoc ministry-related duties as needed.
Possesses the Ability To
- Teach God’s Word in a way that is clear, true to the text, and relevant to the congregation.
- Communicate and participate in staff meetings in both English and Chinese.
- Lead and organize volunteers, as well as plan and implement ministries.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with pastoral and administrative staff.
- Effectively utilize computers and appropriate software, including Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
Education & Experience
- 5 years of relevant ministry experience required.
- Master’s degree in Divinity or equivalent required.
- Effective verbal and written communication in both English and Chinese with pastoral staff and volunteers required.
- Experience developing and running small group ministry is strongly preferred; experience working with young adult groups is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills to make strategic plans and set priorities for ministry groups preferred.
