On Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2026, flash flooding tore through northern Nepal, destroying homes, roads and bridges and leaving entire villages reachable only by air. Send Relief is responding through partner churches in the affected area.

- Send Relief is responding to the flash flooding in Nepal through partner churches already serving in the affected communities.
- The first wave of relief — food, first aid supplies and simple tents — is moving now, going directly to partner churches for distribution to families in their own communities.
- Roads are closed and bridges are gone, leaving many villages reachable only by air. Churches already present in these communities are best positioned to reach families quickly.
- Local believers are leading this response. Send Relief comes alongside them with resources, so the help families receive comes from the church next door, not from strangers passing through.
- As access opens, partners will assess further needs and continue serving. The best ways to help right now are to pray and to give.
- 100% of your gifts to Send Relief go directly to ministry projects.

Are IMB personnel safe?
“We celebrate the blessing of having Southern Baptist personnel who live and work to share the gospel around the world. While we can’t discuss specific locations of many of our personnel, in light of various challenges unfolding globally, we are grateful to God that we can confirm our personnel are unharmed and safe. We urge you to pray for them, for national believers, and for the lost who so desperately need the Lord. Thank you for caring so deeply about these people and our work!”
