Position: Chinese Ministry Pastor
Location: Charlotte Chinese Baptist Church (CCBC), Charlotte, North Carolina
Principal Function
Charlotte Chinese Baptist Church (CCBC) is seeking a full-time Chinese Ministry Pastor to shepherd our Mandarin-speaking congregation and serve collaboratively with the English pastor, deacons, ministry leaders, and volunteers.

CCBC is a Southern Baptist church serving Chinese and English-speaking communities through bilingual, multi-generational ministry. Our desire is to trust the Word of God, proclaim the gospel, build up the body of Christ, and serve our neighbors faithfully.
Primary Responsibilities
- Preach and teach faithfully in Mandarin, including Sunday worship, adult Sunday school, small groups, and other teaching settings.
- Shepherd the Chinese congregation through prayer, discipleship, visitation, pastoral care, counseling, and encouragement.
- Lead or assist with communion, baptism, weddings, funerals, and other pastoral services as appropriate.
- Equip and mentor deacons, small-group leaders, teachers, and other ministry leaders.
- Encourage evangelism, missions, community outreach, and spiritual growth.
- Work collaboratively with the English pastor, deacons, staff, and lay leaders in the overall life of CCBC.
- Participate in appropriate pastoral fellowship, regional, and denominational activities.
Desired Qualifications
- A clear calling to pastoral ministry and Christian character consistent with 1 Timothy 3:1–7 and Titus 1:6–9.
- Fluency in Mandarin for preaching and teaching, with sufficient English communication skills for collaboration and pastoral ministry.
- Agreement with CCBC’s statement of faith, constitution, and bylaws.
- Evangelical seminary training preferred; an M.Div. or equivalent theological preparation is strongly preferred.
- At least three years of pastoral or equivalent church ministry experience preferred; North American Chinese church experience is a strong plus.
- A shepherd’s heart, sound judgment, leadership ability, cultural sensitivity, and a collaborative spirit.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States. Qualified candidates may discuss work authorization questions with the church.
Compensation and Application
Compensation and benefits will be determined based on education, ministry experience, and the church’s compensation framework. Applications will be reviewed as received until the position is filled.
