Tucson Chinese Baptist Church (TCBC), in Arizona, is actively seeking a full-time Senior Pastor.
Affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC), we have an average attendance of 100. We
are a multi-generational church family rooted in the timeless truths of Scripture, united in our
commitment to share the Gospel with our community. Our congregation represents diverse
Chinese-American culture alongside other ethnicities, with English as the primary language. A portion
are fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin. Guided by the Holy Spirit, we seek a pastor who loves the
Lord and has a shepherd’s heart to lead, nurture, and empower our church.

Required Qualifications:
- Demonstrates the biblical qualifications in I Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:6-9, and I Peter 5:1-3.
- Exhibits a personal conviction of the Lord’s calling to the pastoral ministry.
- Affirms and agrees with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.
- Agrees and adheres to the TCBC Constitution and Statement of Faith.
- Possesses prior pastoral experience within an SBC church.
- Holds ordination or eligibility for ordination by an SBC church.
Preferred Qualifications/Responsibilities:
Doctrine & Communication
● Ability to preach God’s word in an engaging and inspiring way.
● Able to listen effectively and to communicate clearly, both orally and in written form.
Experience & Education
● Relevant work experience as a pastor within a SBC church.
● Master of Divinity (or working towards) in a SBC seminary.
Spiritual & Personal Characteristics
● Displays Christ-centered characteristics, spiritually growing in faith, possessing a serving
heart, and devoted to prayer and desires to fulfill the Lord’s will.
● Models personal and home life by following biblical principles.
Pastoral Care & Leadership
● Demonstrates the ability to lead, grow, and develop future leaders collaboratively.
● Formulate, refine, and execute the church’s vision
● Possesses administrative and organizational skills, including delegation if needed.
Cultural and Language Proficiency
● Basic understanding of Asian/Asian-American cultures
● Desired fluency in Cantonese and/or Mandarin
